Waldo is an intelligent alarm system comprised of a device mounted on the bike and a mobile app. It’s designed to provide the ultimate protection against bike thieves. It focuses on prevention, so the device is visible on the bike to deter any potential theft attempts. Whenever someone tries to steal the bike, the device issues a loud alarm and alerts the user on their phone. Moreover, the device has a GPS sensor in case the bike does get stolen.

The Challenge
Keeping your bike safe
Bike theft is a global phenomenon. In the EU alone, 3.5 million bikes are stolen every year. What’s worse, most of them never get returned to their owners. This challenge pushed us to create an alarm system that acted as an extra layer of protection, keeping riders connected to their bikes at any time. Through the power of mobile data, riders had unlimited notification range, meaning they could rest assured knowing their bike is safe at any time.
The Challenge
Keeping your bike safe
The device has an accelerometer that detects even the finest movements. If someone tampers with the bike, the device senses it and triggers a loud alarm. At the same time, the user is notified on his smartphone. The notification range is practically unlimited, since the device and app communicate via internet.
